Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Pipe Layer to join our team at C.A. Murren and Sons. As a Pipe Layer, you will be responsible for preparing and laying pipe for storm drains, sanitary sewers, waterlines, and other types of pipelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Excavate trenches for pipeline installation, ensuring they are properly prepared and shored.
  • Grade and level trench foundations to ensure accurate pipe placement.
  • Align and position pipes, checking slopes using levels or lasers to meet specifications.
  • Bed and backfill trenches to prevent pipe damage and ensure airtight seals.
  • Support the Foreman in monitoring progress, ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.
Requirements
  • Advanced knowledge of equipment setup, including lasers, transits, grade rods, and line levels.
  • Understanding of differing types of soils and shoring techniques, as well as OSHA rules and guidelines for trenching and sloping.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, and coordinate with Foreman to lay out pipe routes.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to participate in pre-employment and random drug screening programs.
  • Subject to a background screening process.
