We are seeking a highly skilled Surgical Technician to join our team at Christus Health. As a key member of our Operating Room staff, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth execution of surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Preparation and Setup: Prepare patient skin for surgery in accordance with hospital standards, transport patients to and from the Operating Room suite, and position patients according to the type of surgery.
- Operating Room Support: Prepare the Operating Room by setting up tables, instruments, and supplies according to the type of case.
- Scrubbing and Instrument Handling: Establish and maintain the sterile field, pass instruments, and sutures to the physician, and assist as directed by the physician.
- Team Collaboration: Cooperate in team planning and execution, and demonstrate clinical expertise in the use and care of all surgical supplies, instruments, and equipment.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required, completion of the Surgical Technology program or an accredited LVN/LPN program required.
- Experience: 2 or more years of experience preferred, BLS required, and Certification of Surgical Technologist from The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting within 180 days of graduation or LVN/LPN License required.
