Job Summary

As a Nuclear Pharmacist at the University of Utah, you will be responsible for the daily preparation, dispensing, and quality control of radioactive pharmaceuticals. This role requires a strong understanding of radiopharmaceuticals, radiation safety, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Procure, compound, and dispense radiopharmaceuticals in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of radiopharmaceuticals, including inventory, usage, and disposal.
  • Provide after-hours on-call coverage for emergency nuclear medicine procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with radiation safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Supervise lab technicians and pharmacy interns in the performance of their duties.
  • Teach and train pharmacy students, nuclear medicine technology students, medical residents, and fellows on nuclear pharmacy principles.
Requirements
  • Eligible to be licensed as a Nuclear Pharmacist in the State of Utah.
  • Ability to become an Authorized Nuclear Pharmacist by the University of Utah Radiation Safety Committee.
  • Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills.
  • Minimum of one year experience as a licensed Nuclear Pharmacist or equivalency.
  • Board Certified Nuclear Pharmacist (BCNP) preferred.
