About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Production Worker to join our team at Central Garden & Pet. As a key member of our production team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient and effective production of our high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and package products for shipping on multiple assembly lines.
  • Weigh products, verify, and adjust product weight or measurements to meet specifications.
  • Monitor machine operations to ensure quality and conformity of filled or packaged products to standards.
  • Attach identification labels to finished packaged items.
  • Inspect and remove defective products and packaging material.
  • Remove finished packaged items from machines.
  • Pack boxes, stack boxes, and/or bags on pallets.
  • Monitor, maintain, and repair production equipment.
  • Operate machines in a safe and responsible manner, ensuring OSHA standards are met.
  • Keep the work area clean, safe, and up to code.
  • Contribute to team efforts by participating in other production activities as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Meets attendance requirements and is on time.
  • Previous production experience in a manufacturing facility, warehouse, farming, or similar relevant experience preferred.
  • Mechanical ability and an interest in machinery preferred.

Work Environment

  • Frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, product irritants, airborne particles, and outdoor weather conditions.
  • Occasionally required to work in high places and confined spaces.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but higher levels of noise are marked by signs.
