Role Overview:
The Developer Experience (DevX) team is responsible for enhancing our customers' developer journey from initial discovery to large-scale implementation.
Our goal is to create an onboarding experience that is intuitive and well-structured, enabling developers to easily discover product details, understand implementation specifics, and work independently.
During the build and scale phases, we ensure our customers have access to comprehensive, ergonomic, and enjoyable developer tools.We achieve this by establishing structured feedback channels and leveraging data analytics to continually improve the user experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with product, engineering, customer success, and technical support teams to refine and enhance the developer experience for our clients.
- Ensure our APIs adhere to the highest standards and conventions.
- Develop a next-generation user and data analytics pipeline.
- Create a world-class developer portal and documentation, integrating AI as a core feature.
- Contribute to open-source projects and foster a vibrant developer community.
- Incorporate cutting-edge technologies to elevate our tech stack.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in software engineering.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- A strong passion for creating exceptional developer-facing products.
- Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages, including but not limited to Typescript, Java, Kotlin, or Python.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Proven experience working on high-volume distributed systems.
- Strong cloud experience with GCP (preferred) or AWS (EC2, RDS, ELB, CloudFront, etc.), along with Docker and Kubernetes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in releasing and maintaining well-known APIs or API design.
- Background in the financial sector.
- Experience leading significant software migrations involving breaking changes.
- Experience in both early-stage startups and large organizations (1000+ employees).
- Deep technical expertise in either front-end or back-end systems.
- Experience in developer experience or other customer-facing engineering roles.

$133.5K - $228.9K

Airwallex promotes fair compensation practices in accordance with applicable laws. The actual compensation offered will depend on various factors, including relevant experience, skills, and geographic location.
US-based employees are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan, short-term and long-term disability, basic life insurance, and well-being benefits, along with 20 paid vacation days and 12 paid company holidays annually.
