Role Summary:

The Store Operations Leader (SOL) is responsible for overseeing all operational functions at the store level to fulfill the Company's strategic goals, enhance customer satisfaction, and optimize sales performance. The SOL leads and directs the store operations team to maintain a tidy, secure, and welcoming environment for both customers and employees. Success in this role is achieved through effective problem-solving, staff management, and collaboration with the Store Director.

Key Responsibilities:

The Store Operations Leader is tasked with developing, mentoring, and sustaining a high-performing store team that aligns with At Home's Vision, Mission, and Values while adhering to all Company policies and procedures.

The SOL will:
  • Recruit, interview, and onboard team members to ensure an exceptional customer experience while facilitating comprehensive training and development for new hires.
  • Act as a role model and mentor in all aspects related to Customer and Team Member experiences.
  • Drive team performance by setting objectives and, when necessary, implementing follow-up actions, including performance improvement plans and corrective measures.
  • Make staffing decisions for the Operations team, including hiring, compensation, promotions, transfers, and addressing team member concerns.
  • Collaborate closely with the Store Director to enhance staffing efficiency that supports customer traffic, sales, and overall experience, ensuring compliance with Company timekeeping policies and payroll accuracy.
  • Analyze and communicate store financial data, including sales and expenses, and develop budgets and strategies to maximize profitability.
  • Oversee daily and weekly task management by planning and scheduling team members for their shifts and validating task completion.
  • Manage all store opening and closing procedures, ensuring operational readiness and security for both assets and team members.
  • Lead the execution of freight and stocking processes, ensuring timely and safe operations while maintaining a clean and organized stockroom.
  • Ensure a positive shopping experience for customers by maintaining a clean and safe store environment and addressing customer concerns promptly.
  • Guide the store team in areas such as customer satisfaction, team development, inventory management, cash control, safety, and expense management.
  • Conduct regular meetings with team members to discuss these critical areas.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned.
  • Availability for flexible scheduling is required.
Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; a college degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of management or leadership experience, or equivalent experience within At Home.
  • At least 3 years of experience leading a team of 10 or more across multiple departments.
  • Experience with managing annual revenue, operating budgets, or profit & loss responsibilities of at least $5 million.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Physical capability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. or team lift 100 lbs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate reliability and integrity as a role model for ethical behavior.
  • Foster a sense of urgency, promote teamwork, and motivate the team to achieve objectives.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to shifting priorities effectively.
