Job Description

The Security Guard will be responsible for providing a safe and secure environment for clients, residents, and staff. This includes:
  • Maintaining a log of persons entering and exiting the facility
  • Operating the door lock system from the security desk
  • Monitoring video surveillance
  • Securing the safety of the facility and clients
  • Assisting in enforcing rules and regulations
  • Assisting clients with medication monitoring
  • Maintaining ongoing verbal and written communication with colleagues
  • Documenting incidents and unusual occurrences
  • Performing emergency response duties, including CPR and first aid as required
  • Completing and submitting relevant reports and statistics in a timely fashion
  • Attending supervision, staff meetings, and training as required

Requirements:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred
  • A security license is required
  • At least one to two years of security experience is preferred
  • Experience working with homeless individuals, those living with mental health conditions, and substance abuse populations is preferred
  • Ability to obtain fire safety certification within six months
  • CPR, First Aid, and AED certification within three months
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently or in a team
  • Foreign languages are a plus
  • Required to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and evenings, and to remain on post until relieved
