Diesel Mechanic Technician A Job Overview

At Performance Foodservice, we're seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic Technician A to join our team. As a critical member of our operations, you'll be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our fleet.

Job Summary:
As a Diesel Mechanic Technician A, you will diagnose and repair medium to heavy-duty trucks and trailers, maintaining compliance with industry standards. Your expertise will ensure that our fleet is always in top condition, enabling us to deliver exceptional service to our customers.

Responsibilities:
• Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, battery checks, and lubrication
• Conduct comprehensive inspections of brakes, steering mechanisms, and wheel bearings
• Diagnose and repair complex issues with onboard computers, electrical systems, and engine components
• Overhaul and rebuild diesel engines and transmissions as required
• Collaborate with colleagues to achieve shared goals and objectives
• Maintain accurate documentation of repairs and maintenance activities through our Enterprise Asset Management system

Requirements:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 5-7 years of experience in medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair, with a focus on preventative maintenance and diagnostics
• Proven track record of working with refrigeration units and overhauling diesel engines and transmissions
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
