Job Description:
We are seeking experienced Mental Health Clinicians to join our Emergency Services team. As a Crisis Intervention Specialist, you will provide comprehensive crisis intervention and stabilization services to individuals experiencing mental health emergencies. Your expertise will help prevent unnecessary hospitalizations and lengthy emergency department stays, de-escalating and preventing future crises.

Key Responsibilities:
* Provide assessments and interventions in multiple settings, including home, schools, juvenile justice settings, community organizations, hospitals, and emergency departments;
* Develop and maintain working relationships with BHD staff, police, courts, schools, magistrates, fire and rescue, VHC Health, and other agencies involved in emergency interventions;
* Conduct diagnostic assessments and risk analyses, utilizing a strengths-based approach;
* Develop and implement strategies for clients and families to alleviate crisis, including time-limited crisis interventions, short-term counseling, and intensive care coordination;
* Conduct pre-admission screening for hospitalization or diversionary services, ensuring services are provided in the least restrictive environments;
* Ensure high-quality and timely documentation within an electronic record management system.

Requirements:
* Master's degree in Counseling, Psychiatric Social Work, Psychology, Art Therapy, Psychiatric Nursing, or other directly related discipline;
* Considerable post-Master's degree experience providing mental health services, including one-year minimum of working with seriously mentally ill individuals in crisis;
* Possession of licensure by the appropriate board of the Virginia Department of Health Professions, appropriate to the employee's discipline;
* Preadmission Prescreening Clinician Certification from the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health & Development Sciences within 60 days of employment;
* TOVA training from Arlington County within one year of employment;
* Medication Administration Certification from a CSB-approved vendor within 90 days of employment.
