Position Summary

Our specialized team in Neurosurgery is in search of a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. This opportunity is open to recent graduates in the NP or PA fields.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately documents care delivery in patient medical records. Conducts thorough patient interviews and records medical histories, psychosocial backgrounds, health status, and any existing or potential medical issues.
  • Under physician supervision, performs comprehensive physical assessments and specialized diagnostic or therapeutic procedures, including cast application and removal, wound suturing, and dressing changes.
  • Aids physicians in diagnosing medical conditions, formulating care strategies, and prescribing appropriate treatments.
  • Orders, schedules, and/or conducts laboratory tests and diagnostic evaluations such as urinalyses, pregnancy tests, blood tests, MRI, CT scans, and x-rays.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
  • Current licensure as an advanced practice nurse in Georgia by the Georgia Board of Nursing and certification as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or equivalent, or certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Appropriate licensure in the state of Georgia.
  • BLS and Healthcare Provider certifications are mandatory. ACLS certification may be required in certain areas.
