Executive Culinary Director

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Head Chef to lead the culinary operations at our residential treatment center in Colfax, CA.

The ideal candidate will have a calm demeanor, thrive under pressure, and possess strong leadership and organizational skills. This role requires the ability to manage a small team, oversee meal preparation for 15-30 residents three times daily, and ensure the kitchen operates efficiently and effectively.

This position involves overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and inventory management. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a small team of cooks, ensuring adequate coverage, and maintaining high standards of quality and cleanliness.

• Menu Planning & Meal Preparation: Create nutritious, balanced, and appealing menus suitable for residents' dietary needs. Oversee the preparation and presentation of three meals a day, ensuring consistency and quality.
• Team Management: Supervise and mentor a team of two cooks, providing clear instructions and fostering a collaborative work environment. Manage team schedules to ensure adequate coverage and smooth kitchen operations.
• Operational Oversight: Maintain inventory by monitoring stock levels and placing orders in a timely manner. Stay within budget for food costs and kitchen supplies.
• Compliance & Safety: Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations. Ensure proper maintenance of kitchen equipment and cleanliness of the kitchen area.

• Proven experience as a Head Chef, Kitchen Manager, or similar role.
• Strong organizational skills, with experience in scheduling, budgeting, and ordering.
• Ability to manage and inspire a small culinary team.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to perform under pressure.
• Physical capability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and navigate stairs regularly.

The estimated annual salary for this position is $55,000 based on the location and industry standards.
