CNC Machinist Job Description

Elgen Staffing is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join our team in Winslow. As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for operating precision metal and steel products manufacturing equipment, including lathes, milling machines, and grinders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review job packages, including routing, blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to understand the process plan, part configuration, material, tooling, and equipment to be used.
  • Build setups per documented plans, utilizing knowledge of proper setup procedures, machining practices, material properties, and tooling.
  • Operate production equipment, utilizing knowledge of machining practices and safe operation.
  • Verify conformance of work pieces to specifications using appropriate measuring instruments.
  • Evaluate deviations identified in the machining process and initiate corrective action if necessary.
  • Train less experienced machinists in advanced machining techniques.
  • Maintain a professional and personable relationship with superiors, peers, and subordinates.
Requirements:
  • At least one year of CNC Milling and Turning experience.
  • Knowledge of proper setup procedures, machining practices, material properties, and tooling.
  • Ability to operate production equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
