Job Summary

Aurora Health St. Luke's Medical Center is seeking skilled Medical Surgical (Med Surg) / Telemetry (Tele) Registered Nurses to join our dynamic team of Internal Float Nurses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize the nursing process to assess patient needs, develop individualized interventions, and evaluate the effectiveness of care plans.
  • Anticipate and recognize significant changes in patient condition, status, and need for care, taking appropriate actions and collaborating with the healthcare team to coordinate patient-centered care.
  • Implement strategies to reduce patient risk and increase patient safety, assessing patient and family readiness to learn and individualizing the approach as necessary.
  • Actively coordinate discharge plans utilizing an interdisciplinary approach, applying evidence-based practice to deliver patient care and consistently incorporating nursing and regulatory standards of care into practice.
  • Provide ongoing evaluation of patient, team, and unit outcomes, empowered to take appropriate action when changes are needed, and support shared governance activities and initiatives to improve processes and patient outcomes.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the team member practices, and Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in Nursing.
  • Typically requires 1 year of experience in clinical nursing.
