Responsibilities- Classroom Management: Ensure the appearance, cleanliness, and safety of the classroom are maintained at all times.
- Administrative Tasks: Complete all necessary paperwork, including daily notes, student accident reports, and attendance reports.
- Staff Meetings and Events: Attend and participate in staff meetings, academy events, and parent meetings as required.
- Supervision and Guidance: Supervise and assist children during all activities, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Counseling and Support: Counsel children when social, academic, or adjustment problems arise.
- Lesson Planning and Implementation: Prepare and implement classroom lesson plans, programs, and schedules.
- Instructional Materials: Develop, plan, and prepare instructional aids and materials for classroom activities.
- Mealtime and Clean-up: Assist children with meal times and clean-up.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all classroom and outdoor equipment are in good working condition and are used and maintained properly.
- Classroom Arrangement: Physically arrange the classroom into well-defined interest areas.
- Staff Direction: Direct the activities of other staff in the classroom to ensure a smooth and orderly operation.
- Parent Communication: Communicate relevant information to parents and maintain developmental profiles for children.
- Parent/Teacher Conferences: Schedule and conduct parent/teacher conferences throughout the year.
- Classroom Displays: Maintain the family information board and other classroom bulletin boards.
- Medication Schedule: Ensure the classroom medication schedule is followed.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- State Requirements: Must meet all requirements stipulated by the state for this position.
- Teaching Experience: Classroom teaching experience in an accredited early childhood facility is a plus.
- Personality and Skills: Pleasant/friendly demeanor and an outgoing personality are essential. Highly professional and dependable individuals are preferred.
- Interpersonal Skills: Must be able to interact appropriately with students of all ages and skill levels, as well as with parents, coworkers, and management.
- Physical Demands: Must be able to lift no less than 40 pounds on a consistent basis throughout the workday to at least waist high.
