Job Summary

The University of Denver Graduate School of Social Work is seeking an experienced and skilled Field Liaison to join our team. As an adjunct faculty member, the Field Liaison will play a critical role in ensuring a quality learning experience for our graduate students in the field education program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor the educational field placement experience to ensure a quality learning experience for graduate students.
  • Serve as a consultant to both the agency supervisor(s) and the student, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Act as the primary link in the internship triad of student, agency/field instructor, and the Graduate School of Social Work.
  • Collaborate with the agency supervisor(s) to develop and implement Individualized Field Education Plans (IFEPs) for students.
  • Provide virtual training and consultation to agency supervisors as needed.
  • Visit with students and agency supervisors a minimum of three times during the internship, and more often if needed.
  • Communicate program curriculum to agency supervisors and promote integration of classroom learning and practice.
  • Submit grades for field courses at the end of each grading period in Pioneer Web.
  • Implement field education policy and procedures.
  • Inform Field Liaison Supervisor of any significant changes in the agency, field experience, or individual student performance.
  • Attend quarterly Field Liaison meetings.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Social Work (MSW).
  • 5 years of post-Master's practice experience.
  • 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • Agency experience in a variety of practice settings, including direct and indirect.
  • Experience as an agency field supervisor for social work graduate students.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with technology to conduct virtual site visits, classes, and student meetings.
  • Excellent interpersonal and group facilitation skills.
  • Proven ability to mediate conflict and demonstrated assessment and problem-solving skills.
