Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Optical Equipment Maintenance Specialist to join our team at HOYA Vision Care. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper operation of our equipment, performing scheduled preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting issues to minimize downtime.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on our optical equipment, including calibration and verification of test standards to ensure accuracy and precision.
  • Repair and Calibration: Repair and calibrate key tools and measurement devices, including general calibration, to ensure optimal performance.
  • Tool Management: Maintain control and traceability of tooling within the shop and outside vendors, ensuring that all equipment is properly calibrated and maintained.
  • Training and Support: Train colleagues on calibration processes as needed and provide support with machine repairs and diagnostics.
  • Installation and Maintenance: Install and maintain all types of optical equipment, working closely with engineers as needed.
  • Quality Assurance: Interpret engineering schematics and procedures used during machine diagnostics and ensure that all equipment is properly maintained to meet quality standards.
  • Safety and Compliance: Maintain an OSHA-compliant safety environment and assist with building maintenance as needed.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Background in optical machinery, automotive, or maintenance.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand for prolonged periods (up to 12 hours per day per shift schedule).
  • Technical Skills: Ability to read and understand technical data, experience working with basic computer programs, and ability to troubleshoot and make repairs to equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Forklift and Scissor Lift Operations: Licensed and able to perform safely.
  • Technical Certification: Preferred.
  • Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Preventative Maintenance: Experience with preventative maintenance on the Bazell system, auto tapers, auto-blockers, generators, polishers, de-blockers, de-tapers, conveyor belts, and general building maintenance repairs.
