Job Summary

The Speech Therapist provides high-quality, patient-centered care by developing and conducting individualized therapy programs for patients with communication, cognitive, and/or swallowing impairments.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct a subjective assessment of assigned patients speech language abilities during spontaneous conversation.
  • Administer objective tests to assess patients communication assets and liabilities.
  • Structure and implement individualized patient program to improve communication abilities.
  • Evaluate patient regularly during treatment and adjust program as needed to maximize patient progress.
  • Document progress in patients chart.
  • Consult with Program Director and Rehab Physician/Medical Director regarding pre-screen assessments and physician consultations to determine appropriate placement of potential patients.

Requirements

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Masters Degree.
  • Speech Therapist, or Speech Pathologist.
