Overview:

The New York ISO is responsible for managing the efficient flow of electricity across over 11,000 miles of high-voltage transmission lines.

This position supports the Transmission Planning Department, providing critical technical expertise to stakeholders.

  • Work closely with engineers and analysts to develop and maintain complex power system models.
  • Coordinate with neighboring regions to ensure accurate representation of their systems in NYISO's models.
Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and enhance NYISO's power system modeling capabilities.
  • Collaborate with Operations staff to review and validate simulation results.
  • Develop and implement procedures for ensuring compliance with NERC standards.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required.
  • Three to five years of experience in power system planning or design, preferably with transmission or generation facilities.
  • Strong knowledge of analytical power engineering system studies software and models.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and external stakeholders.
