Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Database Architect to join our team at I-Link Solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining fast, scalable, and maintainable databases using SQL Server.


Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide support for the administration and maintenance of SQL Server databases.
  2. Monitor applications use of the databases and make recommendations to improve efficiency and response time.
  3. Set up, monitor, and update jobs performing data backups and recoveries.
  4. Design and implement fast, scalable, and maintainable cubes.
  5. Monitor database usage, identify corrective actions when necessary, and apply changes needed to handle data growth and performance degradation.
  6. Monitor database security and assign user access, grant permissions, and roles, develop groups, audit access, etc.
  7. Perform impact analysis on hardware configurations, database schema, and application code, to offer recommendations on improving design and efficiency.
  8. Write SQL code via stored procedures and Transact-SQL to access data.
  9. Develop database design by performing needs analysis, creating logical models, and implementing physical models.
  10. Follow/develop sound database practices.
  11. Ensure databases are available to users during business working hours and any routine maintenance is performed off hours.
  12. Install, configure, patch, and upgrade SQL Server.
  13. Monitor disk space utilization and logs and notify appropriate staff when additional resources are needed.
  14. Assist staff in setting up, maintaining, backing up, and restoring databases in test and development environments.
  15. Implement and manage SQL Server database replication.
  16. Monitor replication to ensure the data is being properly replicated.
  17. Assist in reviewing and modifying a disaster recovery plan that allows for continuation of service.
  18. Run database jobs, i.e., reorgs, imports, and exports, backups, etc.
  19. Troubleshoot issues and take corrective actions as needed.
  20. Monitor data integrity to ensure data is not damaged and/or corrupt.
  21. Create and maintain documentation related to all tasks and provide mentoring/knowledge transfer to other staff within the Database group.
Mandatory Qualifications
  1. 84 Months of experience establishing, maintaining, and troubleshooting SQL Server DBMS in an enterprise-wide database within a Windows environment.
  2. 84 Months of experience establishing, maintaining, and troubleshooting SQL Server DBMS that utilize High Availability in a Windows environment.
  3. 84 Months of experience designing and implementing fast, scalable, and maintainable cubes.
  4. 60 Months of experience performing SQL Server optimization analysis and implementing resolutions.
  5. 60 Months of experience performing working with Transact SQL and SQL Server Data.
  6. 48 Months of experience working with end users providing DB support.
  7. 48 Months of experience performing optimization analysis and implementing resolutions in SQL Server Analysis Server.
  8. Bachelor's Degree Required
