Contract-to-Hire Opportunity

Amtec Inc. is seeking an experienced Engineering Technologist to join our team in a Contract-to-Hire position. In this role, you will work under the direction of the Quality Manager, conducting laser inspections and generating dimensional reports for various military programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate detailed reports of data for Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality teams.
  • Conduct laser inspections of new design installations for integration into manufacturing processes.
  • Perform inspection tasks for new designs and design changes using laser data.
  • Interface with Design Engineering, Program Management, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to address product issues.
  • Create and deliver quality inspection plans and reports that provide data to Manufacturing and customers.
  • Review laser data and develop preventive action plans to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Retrieve quality data and communicate results and statuses to internal and external customers.
  • Develop corrective action plans as necessary to resolve quality issues.

Requirements:

  • BS Degree and 2 years of experience or Associates Degree and 4 years of working experience or High School or the equivalent and 8 years of working experience.
  • Comprehensive understanding and ability to apply quality assurance principles, theories, and concepts in the field.
  • Skilled in providing consistent, technical solutions to a wide range of problems and issues.
  • Ability to seek out and present alternative, imaginative solutions to more challenging problems.
  • Solid working knowledge of GD&T to complete inspections and interface with Design and Manufacturing teams to resolve complex problems.
  • Experience with FARO Edge ARMS and Laser Tracking machines is strongly preferred, though candidates familiar with similar tools will be considered.
  • Experience working with software that interfaces with portable metrology equipment; strong preference for working knowledge of Polyworks, but experience with other software packages will also be considered.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
