Position Overview
The Clinical Research Team Leader oversees a dedicated group of 4-7 clinical research professionals engaged in innovative scientific exploration within the domains of health, wellness, disease management, and prevention strategies. This role is pivotal in managing the daily operations of technical, administrative, and clinical staff, ensuring effective training and onboarding processes. The Team Leader typically reports to a higher-level manager and operates primarily within a specific department.
Key Responsibilities
1. Daily Operations Management (35%): Directs, implements, and supervises the daily execution of research protocols. Assigns clinical research responsibilities to team members, evaluates and refines processes for patient recruitment and enrollment in clinical trials, and ensures compliance with informed consent regulations. Monitors patient interactions and assesses risk-benefit ratios while documenting care and compliance with study protocols.
2. Data Management and Analysis (15%): Engages in the collection, extraction, coding, and analysis of clinical research data. Reviews data for accuracy and validity, assists in the development of research databases, and generates comprehensive reports.
3. Protocol Development and Grant Management (15%): Collaborates in the creation of new research protocols and assists in the strategic planning to meet study objectives. Works closely with principal investigators on grant submissions to secure funding for ongoing and future research initiatives.
4. Budget Oversight (10%): Develops and monitors project budgets, ensuring effective allocation of resources and expenditures.
5. Staff Development and Training (10%): Participates in the recruitment and selection of clinical research personnel. Provides training, mentorship, and supervision to staff, including interns and work-study students, in alignment with departmental goals.
6. Regulatory Compliance (15%): Prepares and submits necessary regulatory documentation related to human subject research. Ensures adherence to all relevant regulations and actively participates in quality assurance audits and compliance reviews.
