Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Production Operations Manager to join our team at Biery. As a key member of our plant leadership team, you will play a critical role in providing team management and leadership to deliver business results and operational improvements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Team Management: Supervise and coordinate the employees and activities of the department/production function to ensure safety, quality, productivity, and housekeeping standards are met or exceeded.
  • Operational Excellence: Coordinate and apply preventative/productive/corrective maintenance techniques toward monitoring and reducing maintenance and repair costs.
  • Training and Development: Facilitate the on-the-job training and development of subordinates' skills to ensure a continued high level of production and morale.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Facilitate communications and dissemination of information between crew operations.
  • Quality and Safety: Evaluate products and machinery to ensure compliance with established quality and maintenance standards.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain production, spoilage, machine, records.
  • Supply Chain Management: Responsible for monitoring machine parts and supplies for production equipment as needed to maintain their good working order.
  • Problem Solving: Participate in root cause and team problem-solving events to improve plant performance.
Requirements
  • Education: BA/BS in business, engineering, applied science or related fields preferred.
  • Experience: 3+ years supervisor experience within a food handling facility preferred.
  • Certifications: Lean Six Sigma training and Green Belt Certification-Preferred.
  • Skills: Excellent attendance record, demonstrated ability to direct, coach, and train associates fostering a team environment, demonstrated ability to plan, monitor, and schedule tasks with excellent time management skills, working knowledge of FDA regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) sanitation methods, and HACCP/FSMA.
Work Environment

The work environment involves moderate risks or discomforts which may require special safety precautions working around moving machines in production facilities. Protective clothing or gear such as goggles, gloves, and shoes may be required.

The work requires some physical strain such as long periods standing and walking in production facility, and lifting of moderately heavy items such as test equipment kits and product cases. Other physical demands include climbing, crouching, and reaching.
