We are seeking a Clinical Support Associate to join our team at Yale New Haven Health. As a Clinical Support Associate, you will provide clinical support with basic nursing care and patient monitoring for the general welfare and safety of all patients.

Responsibilities
  1. Assist with basic patient care, including AM and PM care, toileting, peri-care, emptying and rinsing of drainage devices, and feeding, under the supervision of the licensed nurse.
  2. Take and record vital signs, Sao2, blood pressure, and weight.
  3. Perform selected procedures such as specimen collections, urine testing, hematest, gastrocult, enemas, application of ice collar/caps or post mortem care.
  4. Maintain clean and orderly patient care, storage, pantry, and utility areas.
  5. Orient patient to unit and secure patient valuables.
  6. Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition, leakage of IV solutions, and other problems with treatments/devices.
  7. Assist with reinforcement of incentive spirometry after nursing instruction.
  8. Keep RN informed of status of work and availability for added assignments.
  9. Move and lift patients.
  10. Support multidisciplinary team with range of motion exercises.
  11. Perform patient observer role when assigned.
  12. Meet performance expectations for customer service, teamwork, resource utilization, and staff and self-development.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned or directed to ensure smooth operation of the department/unit.
Qualifications

We are looking for a Clinical Support Associate with a high school graduate or equivalent and graduate of an accredited nursing assistant program or equivalent. A minimum of one year medical/surgical or equivalent experience is preferred. Nurse Aide Certification or equivalent is required, and BLS certification is also required.
