Recreation Coordinator

Position Overview:
The Recreation Coordinator is tasked with overseeing all aspects of programming, organizing, scheduling, budgeting, promoting, facilitating, and directing activities and outings for the community. This role is essential in enhancing the residents' autonomy and overall quality of life, aligning with the mission and values of Ivy Park at Otay Ranch.

Key Responsibilities:
- Create a vibrant, engaging, and fulfilling social environment within the community, encouraging resident involvement through a variety of high-quality activities, outings, special events, guest speakers, film screenings, fitness sessions, club formations, games, artistic endeavors, educational courses, and more.
- Actively participate in resident activities by personally leading events and motivating residents to engage in all planned activities, outings, and special occasions.
- Recruit, train, manage, and schedule Activity Assistants, Drivers, and Community Volunteers to ensure smooth operations.
- Uphold a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and visitors, adhering to established safety protocols.
- Foster teamwork through collaborative interactions with colleagues and other departments.
- Operate community vehicles as needed.

Qualifications:
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid Class C license is necessary; preference for Class B or Class C with Passenger Endorsement.
- At least one year of experience in organizing planned activities and assessing residents' needs.
- Preferred experience of one year in supervising and managing staff and volunteers.
- Flexibility in work schedule is essential, including availability for holidays, evenings, weekends, and additional shifts as required to maintain adequate departmental coverage.
- Proficiency in operating a personal computer and familiarity with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Successful completion of a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests, including physical and TB tests.

In alignment with health and safety protocols, Ivy Park at Otay Ranch may require team members to receive vaccinations, participate in daily health screenings, undergo surveillance testing, and utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) to mitigate the spread of communicable diseases, in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
