  • Verify opening cash balances, process payments, and prepare end-of-day financial reports.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service by engaging with guests, addressing inquiries, and resolving issues, escalating when necessary.
  • Proactively initiate conversations with guests, utilizing techniques such as inquiry and personalization to enrich their visit.
  • Stay informed about daily museum exhibits, programs, membership perks, events, and operational updates.
  • Communicate museum policies and suggest tailored itineraries to visitors.
  • Provide historical context and insights about the museum's exhibits, artifacts, and features.
  • Articulate the mission and vision of the Intrepid Museum to guests.
  • Guide guests through designated areas, ensuring smooth traffic flow.
  • Implement crowd control measures as needed.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all museum visitors.
  • Maintain cleanliness in assigned areas, including general waste management and reporting cleaning needs.
  • Collaborate with volunteers, educators, and museum staff to enhance the visitor experience.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate should possess a high school diploma or GED, with at least one year of relevant customer service experience in ticketing, crowd management, admissions, or interpretation, preferably within a museum or attraction environment. Experience in cash handling is essential. Candidates should be comfortable speaking publicly and directing groups, with the ability to communicate ideas clearly and effectively. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the capacity to adapt to changing policies are necessary. Fluency in multiple languages is advantageous.
