Position Overview

We are seeking a full-time Senior Transportation Engineer/Traffic Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role will focus on leading and managing a diverse array of traffic engineering and transportation planning initiatives for both private and public sector clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in business development and client outreach, including proposal preparation and presentations.
  • Schedule and allocate project work and resources effectively.
  • Personally manage significant projects while overseeing the development of technical staff.
  • Prepare comprehensive project deliverables such as construction plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports.
  • Ensure technical quality control of deliverables, adhering to established quality assurance processes.
  • Represent the company at project meetings and coordinate with project sponsors or clients.
  • Provide expert testimony in support of studies conducted.
  • Collaborate with managers and technical staff across the organization to support multidisciplinary projects.
  • Travel as necessary for meetings, project sites, and events.
  • Promote the company’s diverse services across various disciplines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; a Master’s degree in Transportation Engineering or related field is a plus.
  • Current Professional Engineer (PE) license in New York; licensure in neighboring states is advantageous.
  • 7-10 years of relevant experience in Transportation Planning and Traffic Engineering, preferably in a consulting environment.
  • Established connections within the local transportation community, including state agencies and private developers.
  • Proficient knowledge of relevant design standards and practices.
  • Strong technical expertise in transportation services, with experience using software such as HCM, HCS, SYNCHRO, and VISSIM.
  • Hands-on experience in traffic control design, intersection design, and intelligent transportation systems.
  • Experience in conducting traffic studies and simulations, including capacity analysis and accident studies.
  • Familiarity with environmental study requirements.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD; knowledge of MicroStation is a plus.
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and project management skills.
