Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Restaurant Server/Runner to join our team at Sonesta Hotels. As a key member of our front-of-house team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our guests, ensuring a memorable dining experience that exceeds their expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide prompt and professional service to all guests, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.
  • Demonstrate complete knowledge of the menu, including food and beverage options, and make recommendations to guests as needed.
  • Operate the point-of-sale system efficiently, ensuring accurate orders and timely service.
  • Manage cash handling and credit card transactions, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the dining area is clean and well-maintained, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to provide seamless service, ensuring a positive experience for all guests.

Requirements

  • Two years of experience as a server in a full-service restaurant, preferably in a fine dining establishment.
  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and move quickly and efficiently in a dynamic environment.
  • Food handlers and TIPS certificates required.
  • Previous front-facing guest service experience required.
  • Must read, write, and speak the English language fluently.
