At Midstate Radiology Associates, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team as a Part-Time CT Technologist Trainee at MidState Medical Center in Meriden.

Salary: The estimated annual salary for this position is between $54,240 and $111,360 per year, depending on qualifications and experience, with competitive shift differentials (12%-50% of base rate) included.

Job Overview

This role involves operating equipment and performing diagnostic and therapeutic CT procedures on patients under the supervision of a CT Lead Technologist and CT Technologist. You will assist physicians in diagnosis and treatment by producing high-quality images.

We follow established policies and procedures set by the department, hospital, state, ACR, TJC, and OSHA to ensure quality service and patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Selecting correct exposure factors, algorithms, and scan fields while utilizing patient assessment to produce technically accurate cross-sectional images.
  • Participating in complex invasive CT exams by assisting radiologists in performing procedures using proper sterile technique and producing images for therapeutic and diagnostic services.
  • Maintaining radiation safety through appropriate use of shielding, correct exposure factors, and field sizes while adhering to standards to protect patients and staff.
  • Cleaning and disinfecting equipment and maintaining work areas in an orderly manner, reporting any hazardous conditions or equipment breakdowns to supervisors.
  • Demonstrating yearly competencies, including knowledge and behaviors, to conduct examinations and meet patient needs based on age, condition, or other special requirements.
  • Assessing physician orders and patient requisitions for completeness by reviewing requisitions, laboratory results, and patient charts to ensure correct procedures and protocols are followed.
  • Documenting pertinent patient and exam information and storing computerized images for future reference or retrieval.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have a strong foundation in radiological technology, anatomy, medical and surgical diseases, and scientific principles. You must also possess excellent communication skills, customer service principles, and knowledge of quality assurance practices.

Additional requirements include a graduate degree from an AMA-approved radiology program, CT radiographer license, and CPR certification may be required. At least one year's experience as a radiological technologist is desirable.
