Asset Optimization Engineer

Position Overview:


This role in Operations Engineering focuses on monitoring, troubleshooting, and enhancing the performance of facility assets within the Western Midstream South Texas region.

The selected candidate will collaborate with various teams, including Operations, HSSE, and Project Engineering, to address operational challenges and maximize asset value.

A strong background in process, hydraulic, and compression modeling software is highly advantageous.

Key Qualifications:

  • A minimum of four years of relevant engineering experience in operations, design, and construction related to oil gathering, natural gas processing, and saltwater disposal systems.
  • Familiarity with industry codes, environmental regulations, and safety standards is preferred.
  • Experience in facility operations support, particularly in troubleshooting and process optimization.
  • Knowledge of process safety management principles and their application.
  • Proficiency in gas compression modeling software is a plus.
  • Ability to gather, analyze, and derive conclusions from various process data sources.
  • Competence in standard office applications such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is essential.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Core Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate asset performance to identify opportunities for improving throughput, product recovery, energy efficiency, and reducing operational costs and emissions.
  • Maintain a prioritized portfolio of potential improvement projects.
  • Advance prioritized opportunities to develop viable solutions, cost estimates, and economic analyses.
  • Create project execution plans for approved initiatives, facilitating handover to the project execution team.
  • Provide engineering support for both greenfield and brownfield project design, execution, and post-project evaluations.
  • Assist Operations with diagnosing operational issues and recommend corrective actions.
Educational Requirements:

Bachelor of Science Degree required:
Process, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering

Compensation will be commensurate with education and experience.

Certifications:

No specific certifications required.

Travel Expectations:

Travel is required on an as-needed basis, averaging approximately 25%.

Work Schedule:

This position follows a schedule of 9 hours from Monday to Thursday and 4 hours on Friday, with remote work on Wednesdays and Fridays.
