We are seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Engineer to join our team at OneZero Solutions. As a Senior Information Systems Security Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining secure IT systems for our DHS customer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Security Controls Design and Implementation: Develop and implement advanced security principles and best practices for DHS systems and networks.
  • Conduct Comprehensive Security Assessments: Identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies through penetration testing and security assessments.
  • Configure and Manage Security Technologies: Implement and manage security appliances, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and other security technologies.
  • Develop Secure Network Architectures: Design and maintain secure network architectures and system configurations.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work with system owners and developers to integrate security controls into system development and implementation processes.
  • Stay Current with Security Threats: Stay up-to-date with evolving security threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices.
  • Contribute to Security Engineering Methodologies: Develop and refine security engineering methodologies and procedures.
  • Support Incident Response: Collaborate with ISSO and other DHS teams on incident response and remediation efforts.
  • Mentor Junior Staff: Mentor and guide junior ISSO staff, fostering professional development.
Requirements
  • 12+ Years of Experience: Direct experience serving as an Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) within the DoD/Federal Government.
  • Proven Track Record: Proven success in designing, implementing, and maintaining secure IT systems, demonstrating innovation, initiative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Security Expertise: In-depth understanding of information security principles and best practices, including network security, cryptography, system security, vulnerability management, and incident response.
  • Security Assessment and Penetration Testing: Expertise in security assessment methodologies and penetration testing tools.
  • Security Technologies and Protocols: Proficiency in security technologies and protocols, such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, encryption, and security information and event management (SIEM) systems.
  • Security Frameworks and Standards: Experience with relevant security frameworks and standards, such as DoD STIG, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, FISMA, RMF, and DHS supplemental IA controls and security policies.
  • Education and Certifications: Bachelor's degree and/or CRISC, GISP, CASP, CISSP, or other advanced security-related certifications.
