Solar Grazing Specialist

Ranch Hand Position

The Silicon Ranch Corporation is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Ranch Hand at our RE De Soto Ranch in De Soto, GA.

Job Description

The Ranch Hand will be responsible for supporting regenerative land management and solar grazing operations, including implementing sheep grazing management plans, developing ranch facilities and infrastructure, and assisting with flock health and animal husbandry plans.

Responsibilities

• Support broad regenerative land and livestock operations at the RE De Soto Ranch with a focus on safety, animal welfare, time management, and operational success.
• Implement sheep grazing management plans, including participation in fencing, feeding, herding, and related activities.
• Develop ranch facilities and infrastructure to support regenerative land management and solar grazing operations.
• Support implementation of flock health and animal husbandry plans, including hands-on work related to vaccinating, deworming, performing wellness evaluations, and a multitude of veterinary-related tasks.
• Safely operate various pieces of mechanical equipment, including but not limited to, trucks, tractors, mowers, and hand tools.
• Adhere to an equipment preventative maintenance schedules and procedures.

Requirements

We are seeking an individual with a valid driver's license, high school diploma or equivalent, and experience in livestock agriculture. Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, lift 50lbs multiple times throughout the day, and communicate effectively both written and oral.

Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
