About the Position

We are seeking an experienced Addiction Psychiatrist to join our team at the Southern Arizona VA Healthcare System (SAVAHCS) in Tucson, Arizona. As an Addiction Psychiatrist, you will play a critical role in providing addiction and dual diagnosis treatment to Veterans with substance use disorders and mental health disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide addiction and dual diagnosis treatment to Veterans in an outpatient setting as part of an integrated team of healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in teaching and supervising Addiction Medicine Fellows, Psychiatry Residents, and Medical Students in clinic.
  • Serve as a faculty member of the University of Arizona Addiction Medicine Fellowship and obtain affiliate faculty appointment with the University of Arizona College of Medicine.
  • Provide cross-coverage with the outpatient Addiction Psychiatrist.

The Southern Arizona VA Health Care System (SAVAHCS) is a Joint Commission-accredited, level 1a complexity teaching hospital providing tertiary-level care. Our 150-acre campus offers a full range of medical and mental health services for Veterans, including a 31-bed inpatient psychiatry/substance use acute treatment unit, a 25-bed mental health residential rehabilitation treatment program for substance use disorders and PTSD treatment, intensive outpatient programs for SUD and PTSD, homeless programs, and more.
