Job Summary

The Los Rios Community College District is seeking a highly qualified Accounting Professor to join our faculty team. As an Accounting Professor, you will be responsible for teaching a variety of accounting courses, including introductory and advanced classes, to students at one of our four campuses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach accounting courses, including lectures, discussions, and lab sessions, to students at the associate's and bachelor's levels.
  • Develop and implement curriculum to meet the needs of our students and the accounting profession.
  • Assess student learning outcomes and provide feedback to students.
  • Stay current with industry developments and best practices in accounting education.
  • Participate in departmental and college-wide committees and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement new programs and services.
Requirements
  1. A Master's degree in Accountancy or Business Administration with an accounting concentration, or a Bachelor's degree in Business with an accounting emphasis and a Master's degree in Business, Business Administration, Business Education, Economics, Taxation, or Finance.
  2. A minimum of 2 years of experience in teaching accounting courses at the community college level.
  3. Experience with curriculum development and implementation.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  5. A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the classroom and in the community.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A Ph.D. in Accountancy or Business Administration with an accounting concentration.
  • Experience with online course delivery and instructional technology.
  • Experience with curriculum assessment and evaluation.
  • Experience with departmental and college-wide committees and initiatives.
