Key Responsibilities

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA, LPTA) will provide treatment and educational support aimed at improving the well-being of patients, adhering to the prescribed care plan.

  • Ensure compliance with state regulations governing physical therapy in home care, executing treatments as defined by the supervising Physical Therapist and performing only those tasks for which you are qualified.
  • Guide and assist patients in various exercises, including active and passive movements, muscle re-education, gait training, and activities of daily living (ADL).
  • Monitor, document, and communicate the patient's response to treatment and any changes in their condition to the supervising Physical Therapist, nurse supervisor, and/or physician. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals as necessary.
  • Educate patients, families, caregivers, and other healthcare team members regarding therapy practices within the scope of a Physical Therapy Assistant.

Qualifications

License Requirements

  • Must be currently licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in the state of employment.
  • CPR certification is mandatory.
  • A valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation are required.

Additional State Requirements

  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience as a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant is required.
