About the Role

Ben Hall Law is a leading law firm dedicated to providing relentless representation in high-stakes criminal litigation. As a highly skilled and dedicated criminal defense attorney, you will be part of our esteemed legal team, focusing on the defense of individuals charged with major crimes.

The ideal candidate will possess a wealth of experience and a proven track record in defending clients against violent felonies, white-collar crimes, and other serious offenses. You will also have expertise in handling multiple felony trials to verdict and a deep understanding of criminal law, trial procedures, and evidentiary standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Representation: Represent clients in all phases of criminal defense, from pre-trial proceedings to jury trials and post-conviction appeals.
  • Comprehensive Defense Strategies: Develop thorough defense strategies, including analysis of evidence, legal precedents, and potential procedural issues.
  • Negotiation: Negotiate with prosecutors to secure favorable outcomes, such as reduced charges or sentences, where appropriate.
  • Courtroom Advocacy: Advocate zealously for clients in court, presenting compelling arguments and cross-examining witnesses effectively.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with investigators, expert witnesses, and paralegals to build robust cases.
  • Case Management: Maintain detailed case files and provide regular updates to clients regarding the status of their cases.
Qualifications
  • Education: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Bar Admission: Licensed to practice law in Michigan, or eligible for licensure in Michigan before start date.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years prosecuting or defending major felony cases.
