Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our Energy Business Line. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and leadership on mechanical engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement mechanical equipment and piping material specifications
• Conduct hydraulic modeling, pipe stress calculations, tank and pump sizing, and other engineering tasks
• Collaborate with mechanical design teams to direct completion of engineering drawings
• Participate in multi-discipline collaboration on equipment general arrangements, P&IDs, isometrics, asset and tie-in lists, orthographic, etc.
• Attend client meetings and/or site field visits
• Work under limited supervision and perform routine and non-routine, complex design assignments
• Maintain open communication with project teams regarding workload planning, task estimating, and budgeting
• Prepare technical reports and presentations that explain research, findings, and recommendations
• Interact with vendors, regulatory agencies, and contractors
• Prepare project specifications and contract documents
• Apply strong knowledge of industry standards, guides, specifications, and procedures specific to working in the US mechanical and industrial infrastructure

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 4+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on energy sector projects
• Ability to participate in field walks and create field sketches, take dimensions, climb ladders, etc. as necessary
• Strong knowledge of piping specifications and pipe stress analysis
• Experience with engineering software packages, such as Caesar II, Pipe-Flo, and AspenTech applications
• Familiarity with diverse metallurgy and experience with specifying mechanical equipment
• Experience with HVAC and/or other similar building systems
• Experience executing work in 3D model environments and working in collaborative model environments
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
