Lead Automotive Safety Assessor

NVIDIA is seeking a highly skilled Lead Automotive Safety Assessor to join its Infrastructure, Planning and Processes organization. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the company's automotive software engineering teams comply with industry-leading safety standards.

The successful candidate will develop a safety assessment roadmap for assessing automotive programs, lead internal safety process assessments, and provide early feedback to software development teams. Additionally, they will produce safety assessment status reports, develop safety coaching and training plans, and support internal/external safety process/product audits.

The ideal candidate will have experience coaching, mentoring, and leading other assessors, as well as a strong background in estimating assessment activity efforts. They will also have a deep understanding of safety methodology, standards, software methods, procedures, tools, and customer-related processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop a safety assessment roadmap for assessing automotive programs
  • Lead all aspects of internal Safety process assessments across NVIDIA's SW organization on automotive projects for quality, consistency, and timeliness
  • Ensure software development teams receive early feedback on assessments to allow them to begin addressing findings as soon as possible
  • Produce safety assessment status reports
  • Develop safety coaching and training plan to provide training so that software teams can successfully achieve high safety ratings
  • Support internal/external safety process/product audits
  • Support automotive customer engagements through pre-sales and execution
  • Partner with the Process Steering Group to ensure internal safety assessment processes are efficient and up to date
Requirements:
  • Experience coaching, mentoring, training and leading other assessors
  • Background with estimating assessment activity efforts
  • Experience improving internal safety processes
  • 10+ years safety assessment experience
  • Strong knowledge of and experience in safety methodology, standards, software methods, procedures, tools, and customer-related processes
  • Hands-on engineering experience in automotive software
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
