About the Role

At SpaceX, we are seeking a highly skilled CNC Programmer to join our team. As a CNC Programmer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Programming and Operations: Use NX or MasterCam CAD/CAM/CAE program to program CNC parts, and work closely with machinists, leads, and engineering teams to optimize machining programs and procedures.
  • Quality Control: Verify CNC files and maintain revision control on programs and setup sheets to ensure accuracy and precision.
  • Tooling and Maintenance: Knowledgeable of carbide tools and adjust speed and feed parameters for maximum tool life, and machine fixture tooling as directed by process sheets.
  • Productivity and Efficiency: Meet expectations for productivity and production goals, and constantly monitor production to identify areas for improvement.
  • Process Improvement: Provide consistent ideas for process improvements and work with the team to implement changes.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
  • Experience: 5+ years of CNC programming experience, including NX, and experience with graphite electrode programming.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Advanced CNC Programming: 10+ years of CNC programming experience, including NX, and experience with programming and operating multi-axis mill and lathe CNC machines.
  • Tool and Die Experience: Experience working with tool and die application with complex surfacing and contours.
Additional Requirements
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift 25 lbs. unassisted, and perform tasks that require standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying.
  • Work Schedule: Ability to work 1st or 2nd shifts, as well as overtime and weekends as needed.
