Position Overview

We are seeking qualified candidates for a Psychiatry Faculty Position in North Central Illinois, located just 2 hours from major urban centers. This region boasts a population of approximately 115,000 and serves a broader community of around 450,000.

Department Highlights

  • We are currently offering two Clinician-Educator (CE) roles and one Psychiatry Residency Program Director (PD) position.
Candidate Expectations

Successful candidates for the CE positions should demonstrate a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care while also engaging in the educational development of residents and medical students.

The PD role is designed for individuals with a background in educational administration and a passion for teaching, as it involves a planned transition in leadership.

Responsibilities

For the CE position, responsibilities will include:

  • Leading an interdisciplinary general psychiatry adult inpatient teaching unit, collaborating with residents, medical students, nursing staff, social work, and support personnel.

The PD position entails:

  • Overseeing our 16-resident, ACGME-accredited training program.
  • Fostering a culture of excellence in resident recruitment, education, and evaluation.
Additional Opportunities

Both positions offer tailored duties based on individual interests, including:

  • Engagement in adult and child outpatient clinics.
  • Involvement in partial hospitalization programs.
  • Participation in advanced treatment modalities such as electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS).
  • Opportunities for community outreach and mental health initiatives.
  • Focus areas may include geriatric and forensic psychiatry.
