Position Overview
We are currently seeking a dedicated Material Handler to join our team. Below are the responsibilities and qualifications for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute daily distribution yard operations within the facility.
- Conduct distribution-related tasks such as receiving, storing, and preparing shipments.
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently.
- Verify that loads correspond with orders before vehicles depart the yard.
- Engage in customer service activities as needed.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of building material products and warehouse operations.
- Exhibit alertness and adaptability to the routines of the warehouse.
- Apply basic mathematical skills for various tasks.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization in the work area.
- Adhere to safety protocols and comply with OSHA regulations.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and ongoing process improvement.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements: High School Diploma, GED, or two years of relevant work experience. Ability to comprehend and communicate safety and work-related instructions. The role involves considerable physical exertion in a warehouse environment, with duties performed in various weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with building materials and engineered wood products is advantageous. Capability to measure lengths of materials accurately. General warehouse experience, including industrial forklift operation, is preferred.
