Role Overview:
As a pivotal member of our engineering team, you will:

  • Design, construct, and enhance cloud infrastructure to guarantee exceptional reliability and resilience.
  • Devise strategies for application and data recovery to ensure business continuity in the face of failures.
  • Enforce best practices for cloud security and compliance, ensuring adherence to company protocols and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with diverse teams to comprehend their requirements and ensure the robustness of cloud solutions.
  • Engage closely with architecture and design teams to establish technical frameworks and guidelines for public cloud reliability.
  • Partner with cloud service providers to assess their service level agreements (SLAs) and confirm they align with our uptime and latency expectations.
  • Oversee and manage cloud environments to proactively identify and resolve issues affecting reliability.
  • Stay informed about the latest advancements in cloud computing and resilience methodologies.

Work Environment:
This position operates in a hybrid model, with expectations to work from the office 2-3 days a week based on departmental needs.

Qualifications:
Basic Requirements:
10+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's Degree, or at least 7 years with an Advanced Degree, or 4 years with a PhD, or 13+ years of relevant experience without a degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
12+ years of experience with a Bachelor's Degree, or 8-10 years with an Advanced Degree, or 6+ years with a PhD. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline is required.
Minimum of 5 years in a Cloud Architect role or similar in public cloud environments.

Certifications:
Certifications in cloud computing such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert are highly desirable.

Skills:
Proficient understanding of cloud services and infrastructure including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. Experience in designing resilient cloud-based solutions and public/hybrid network architectures is essential. Familiarity with DevOps principles and CI/CD tools, as well as proficiency in scripting languages like Python and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation, is expected.

Additional Information:
Work Hours: Varies based on departmental needs.
Travel Requirements: This role may require travel up to 10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: The position is office-based, requiring the ability to sit and stand at a desk, communicate effectively, and operate standard office equipment.
