Job Summary:

The Production Supervisor will oversee and manage production shift employees, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and quantity standards. This role requires strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and delegate responsibilities effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Train and manage production employees on the assigned shift, providing guidance and support to ensure they meet performance expectations.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, providing constructive feedback and recommendations for improvement.
  • Recruit, interview, and hire new staff, ensuring a diverse and skilled team.
  • Coordinate with Production Manager and Human Resources to respond to employee concerns and complaints.
  • Ensure onboarding is complete, with all necessary training and documentation.
  • Coordinate with Production Manager to establish goals and criteria for performance evaluations.
  • Interact with the payroll system for activities such as time off requests and timecard approvals.
  • Adhere to EMS and IATF 16949 Policies and Procedures.
Safety Responsibilities:
  • Ensure each assigned worker follows all safety standards, with a focus on preventing accidents and injuries.
  • Ensure assigned departments comply with company policies and safety standards.
Operations Responsibilities:
  • Organize and oversee the schedules and work of department supervisors, ensuring efficient operations and meeting departmental goals.
  • Ensure supervisors manage their departments effectively, with a focus on quality and productivity.
  • Oversee the daily workflow and assignments of the production shift, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
  • Guide, assign, schedule, and supervise the work of department teams, ensuring work is completed on schedule.
  • Ensure paperwork is completed and signed correctly, with accurate and timely documentation.
  • Oversee assigned production, ensuring safety standards are followed and quality work is being performed in a timely manner.
  • Determine project requirements and procedures, and the required materials and workers, based on given project specifications.
  • Keep and maintain appropriate production and employee records.
  • Perform daily walkthroughs of project/work site to confirm availability and use of proper materials and tools, recognizing and promptly addressing issues to ensure work continues on schedule.
  • Resolve problems and coordinate activities for the job through collaboration and communication with other management or technical staff and contractors.
  • Conduct audits and quality assurance tests of work and safety matters.
  • Identify and recommend solutions for production problems, as required.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve delays in shift operations, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Ensure department has appropriate staff to meet objectives.
  • Work with Production Manager and other leaders to identify and address inefficiencies and opportunities for cost reduction.
  • Assist Production Manager and Lead with preparing schedules.
Department Maintenance and Resource Responsibilities:
  • Oversee production operations on assigned shift, ensuring efficient operations and meeting departmental goals.
  • Coordinate maintenance schedules to ensure efficient operations.
  • Maintain knowledge of processes and equipment, with a focus on troubleshooting and resolving issues.
  • Notify maintenance department of equipment problems, with a focus on prompt resolution.
  • Recommend preventive maintenance and schedule updates.
Qualifications for Consideration:
  • Thorough understanding of production operations and machinery, with the ability to quickly learn and adapt.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with employees and management.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks and delegate responsibilities effectively.
  • Excellent time management skills, with a proven ability to meet deadlines and ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve production problems.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate, with a focus on effective time management.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, with the ability to complete reports and logs accurately and efficiently.
  • Ability to analyze situations and identify ways to improve efficiency, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Excellent interpersonal and management skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate employees.
  • Thorough understanding of materials, methods, and tools used in projects, with the ability to read blueprints and other reports outlining specifications.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate employees.
  • Thorough understanding of operations policies and practices, with the ability to ensure compliance and adherence.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required, with prior manufacturing experience desired.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to traverse the production facility, with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds at a time with assist controls.
