Responsibilities:
* Prepare design specifications, analyze results, and make recommendations for approval
* Perform technical responsibilities for planning, organizing, and conducting technical projects or phases of projects involving design and development of new or improved product and/or processes
* Investigate solutions to product and/or process problems
* Consolidate results of mechanical design elements for assigned projects
* Coordinate efforts of drafters/designers, engineering technicians, and machine shop personnel as required by assigned projects
* Conduct independent technical investigations involving origination or modification of material, component, or process specifications and requirements
* Design and develop mechanical kit Technical Data Packages (TDPs) and TDPs for rackmount electronics equipment
* Perform environmental qualification testing, including Electromagnetic Interference/Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMI/EMC) testing, vibration testing, mechanical shock testing, ingress protection testing, salt spray testing, sand and dust testing, and temperature and humidity testing
* Assemble units, enclosures, or systems by reading, updating, or following mechanical drawings, industry methods, or assembly instructions
* Identify, define, and solve complex technical problems requiring high-level ingenuity and innovativeness
* Develop and deliver complex technical presentations to high-level program management and customers
* Lead major program and/or design reviews and major proposal activities
* Perform extensive research and complex analysis on major projects to enhance technical and economic development of product and/or service
* Provide functional and technical guidance to engineers or other organizations
* Typically provide leadership and technical direction for a project team

Requirements:
* Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
* Ten (10) years' experience in one or more areas: design, development, production, testing of electronic, electro-mechanical, and/or hydro-electronic equipment
* Demonstrated experience performing environmental qualification testing
* Experience designing and developing mechanical kit TDPs
* Experience developing and delivering complex technical presentations
* Possess a current Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance
* Excellent analytical and research skills
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
