Impactful Responsibilities
The Procurement Operations Manager - Softgels is responsible for executing intricate category strategies across multiple sites to enhance the assigned categories of expenditure.
Scope of Responsibilities
- Spearheads global category initiatives to achieve critical performance indicators, including savings, supplier rationalization, low-cost region sourcing, and risk management.
- Directs the implementation of 3 to 5-year global sourcing strategies aimed at identifying and contracting with preferred suppliers that fulfill essential business needs and category management objectives.
- Contributes to the formulation of 3-5 year global sourcing strategies focused on identifying and contracting preferred suppliers that align with key business category management goals.
Technical Responsibilities
- Monitors market intelligence and key trends, evaluates their impact, and refines category plans to meet business requirements.
- Engages with division/site procurement teams and other key stakeholders to qualify preferred suppliers and transition spend from non-preferred suppliers.
- Analyzes category supplier performance data to identify opportunities for improvement and establish continuous enhancement goals.
- Actively participates in supplier business reviews to ensure compliance with contractual obligations, including performance standards and continuous improvement targets.
- Manages strategic contracts across suppliers, products, and services within the category.
- Drives negotiations for global agreements in alignment with category strategy.
Leadership Responsibilities
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams (quality, technical, operations, finance, etc.) to ensure all category sourcing activities are aligned with shared goals and priorities.
- Establishes global category plans and priorities, ensuring alignment with divisional business objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business or a technical field, or equivalent combination of experience and education; Master’s Degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of procurement/sourcing experience in mid to large multinational companies, with robust category/business engagement experience.
- Proficient in assessing market/business dynamics and negotiating agreements that deliver substantial business value.
- Experience in highly regulated industries is essential.
- Demonstrated consultative and collaborative approach in executing sourcing activities.
- CPSM or equivalent certification is preferred.
- Hands-on experience in manufacturing and/or supply chain is advantageous.
- Experience in life sciences, medical device, or pharmaceutical sectors is preferred.
- Willingness to travel up to 10%.
