Job Title: Veterinary Medical Specialist

About the Job:

We are seeking a skilled Veterinary Medical Specialist to join our team at PetCare Animal Hospital. As a key member of our veterinary staff, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to our patients.

Responsibilities:

  • Collect and analyze lab samples
  • Perform diagnostic imaging procedures
  • Provide nursing care to medical and hospitalized cases
  • Administer medications and maintain accurate records
  • Communicate effectively with clients regarding treatment plans
  • Surgical preparation and assistance, as well as anesthetic management

Requirements:

  • A Licensed Veterinary Technician with active license required, 1+ year professional experience preferred but not required
  • Consistent punctuality and reliability in adherence to scheduled shifts
  • Availability to work Saturdays
  • Excellent client communication and medical record management skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of veterinary procedures, preventative care, and hospital operations
  • Expertise in safe and low-stress animal restraint techniques
  • Proficiency in various sample collection methods, including blood, urine, fecal, and skin specimens
  • Experience in radiographic positioning and image capture, with additional skills in dental radiography being a plus
  • Experience in anesthesia administration and surgical monitoring
  • Commitment to professional ethics and continuous learning
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with exposure to animal-related hazards

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary range: $55,000 - $65,000 per annum, depending on experience
