Job Summary:

The Interventional Radiology Technologist plays a crucial role in assisting physicians with various invasive Angio and interventional procedures in the Interventional Radiology Suite. This position requires a high level of patient care and attention to detail, ensuring a safe and successful procedure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform specialized radiography and fluoroscopic coverage of interventional and angiographic procedures under the direction of a physician.
  • Explain procedures to patients and prepare them for the procedure.
  • Obtain medications, radiopharmaceuticals, or contrast materials as directed for administration by a licensed practitioner, authorized/certified technologist, or registered nurse.
  • Circulate during procedures and maintain responsibility for patient comfort.
  • Provide necessary supplies for diagnostic and therapeutic invasive procedures.
  • Remove catheters/sheaths and apply direct pressure or clamp as appropriate.
  • Provide necessary report information to the holding area or nursing unit as needed.
  • Record and process hemodynamic reports, contrast media records, and charges promptly and accurately.
  • Enter patient data and inventory into WITT program and send films for review.
  • Communicate equipment malfunctions to leadership or department engineer for repairs.
Requirements:

This position requires a High School Diploma or GED, completion of an ANA accredited Radiologic Technologist Program or completion of an accredited Radiology Interventional Program, and BLS certification. Additionally, 1 year of experience in diagnostic and 1 year in Interventional Radiology is preferred.
