Job Title: Intake Specialist

U.S.VETS, a leading nonprofit organization, seeks an Intake Specialist to join our team at our Inland Empire Location. As a key member of our program team, you will play a vital role in supporting homeless and at-risk veterans and their families in connecting to supportive services.

Job Summary:

The Intake Specialist will provide direct support to the program team and serve as the point of contact for program eligibility and the intake process. This role requires strong organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to work within a team.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform screening and assessment for client eligibility.
  • Assist clients with obtaining necessary information for program enrollment.
  • Conduct client intake process, intake packet completion, and program data entry for intakes and discharges.
  • Track client entry/exits electronically and enter into program database.
  • Perform data entry into the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) if applicable.
  • Assist with ensuring MyCaseRecords (MCR) documentation is up to date.
  • Coordinate with program team members to monitor and document services.
  • Assist in maintaining archival of client inactive files.
  • Provide direct and confidential support to management and staff members.
  • Assist with communicating program guidelines to clients and community partners.
  • Assist with monthly aftercare follow-up procedures.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in social services field or related field preferred.
  • One year of experience in social services or related field required.
  • Experience working with homeless and/or veterans preferred.
  • Strong oral, written, and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work within a team.
  • Computer proficient in Microsoft Office and Internet.
  • Detail-oriented with effective organization skills.
  • Valid driver's license required.
