Wound Care Specialist

As a skilled Wound Care Specialist at Prisma Health, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to patients with chronic wounds. Your expertise will be invaluable in assessing and treating patients, collaborating with the wound care team, and educating patients and their caregivers on advanced wound care modalities and practices.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and reassess patients with chronic wounds, developing individualized plans of care under the guidance of a physician or Certified Wound Care Clinician.
- Communicate patient needs to the wound care team, providing discharge teaching as required and assisting with referrals for studies, labs, and procedures.
- Formulate, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care, coordinating care in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
- Assist with education and promotion of knowledge on healthy practices in wound care throughout the community.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR, including products and facility charges.
- Ensure a safe, comfortable, clean, and therapeutic environment for patients and families.
- Associate Degree - Nursing, BSN preferred.
- 2 years of experience as an RN, with interest and experience in skin and wound care.
- RN - REGISTERED NURSE - (Code NLRN).
- Wound Vac Experience - Preferred.
- Completion of BSN - Preferred.
- Obtain certification in Wound and Ostomy - Preferred.
This is a non-management role that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive. The work shift is Day (United States of America), and the location is Patewood Outpt Ctr/Med Offices, with the facility being 1046 Patewood Hospital and the department being Surgery-Wound Care-IVH.
