As a vital member of our team at Vets Hired, the Law Enforcement Investigator II plays a crucial role in ensuring public safety and upholding the law. This position requires a dedicated individual who meets the following qualifications:

  • Age Requirement: Must be at least 19 years old; candidates aged 18 may be considered for specific roles.
  • Citizenship: Must be a citizen of the United States.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
  • Criminal History: No felony convictions or misdemeanors involving perjury or false statements; must not have received a dishonorable discharge from military service.
  • Fingerprinting: Must have processed fingerprints on file with the relevant agency.
  • Physical Examination: Successful completion of a physical examination by a licensed medical professional is required, ensuring no evidence of serious health issues.
  • Moral Character: Must demonstrate good moral character as determined by a thorough background investigation.
  • Affidavit Submission: Completion and submission of an affidavit attesting to compliance with all requirements.
  • Training: Completion of a commission-approved basic recruit training program is essential unless exempt.

Additionally, candidates who have:

  1. Completed a comparable basic recruit training program in another jurisdiction and have served as a full-time sworn officer for at least one year, or
  2. Served in special operations forces for a minimum of five years, may qualify for exemptions from certain training requirements.

Certification: Achieving an acceptable score on the officer certification examination is necessary, along with compliance with ongoing training or education requirements.

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in healthcare fraud investigations, particularly those who have worked within a Medicaid Fraud Control Unit, or possess five years of sworn law enforcement experience.
