Become a key member of our vibrant team at Mike and Patty's, where we specialize in artisanal baked goods.

We are in search of a skilled baker with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in crafting artisan breads, with additional pastry expertise being a valuable asset. The ideal candidate will possess a genuine passion for culinary arts, coupled with a curious mindset and a meticulous attention to detail. Your primary duties will involve the creation and training of our diverse product line, which includes artisan breads, English muffins, pastries, and an assortment of prepared dishes that cater to both our restaurant and wholesale clientele. This role is expected to exemplify best practices in food safety, consistency, and quality across all kitchen operations. This is a full-time position that offers paid time off, with compensation based on experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise and manage the daily operations of the bakery.
  • Oversee inventory management and ensure timely ordering of supplies.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels to prevent shortages.
  • Coordinate and manage the production schedule effectively.
  • Engage in physical activities such as standing, walking, and occasionally lifting up to 60 lbs.
  • Communicate detailed information clearly and effectively.
  • Report directly to the Culinary Director and the Director of Operations.
YOUR ROLE IN OUR TEAM
  • Oversee both retail and wholesale product lines while supporting food service operations, including commissary and ghost kitchens.
  • Implement the production schedule with assistance from the commissary team.
  • Conduct inspections of equipment and storage areas to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Handle administrative tasks related to food ordering and inventory management.
  • Communicate any changes in food preparation standards to the team.
  • Review financial documents such as P&Ls to ensure operational viability.
  • Ensure compliance with local and national health and food safety regulations, maintaining up-to-date health codes.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support the business objectives, including troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  • Share accountability with the management team for any significant incidents affecting bakery operations, ensuring customer satisfaction and adherence to operating hours.
